Tip Hudson, Art of Range Podcast

Tip Hudson is a Professor at Washington State University Extension in rangeland and livestock management. He has lived in Ellensburg, Washington since graduating from the University of Idaho in 2001. Tip’s work with WSU has focused on regenerative rangeland grazing, riparian management to support stream function and water quality, ecosystem monitoring, and grazing to address wildfire risk.

Chyenne Smith, Idaho Rancher

Chyenne Smith is a first-generation rancher. Together with her husband, Jay, they bought a ranch and over the past 20 years have added two leased ranches, a registered Black Angus program, a morgan-quarter horse cross-program, and three kids to the mix.

Joel Yelich, PhD

Senior Researcher at the University of Idaho Nancy M. Cummings Research Extension and Education Center, Carmen ID. Current research includes range livestock grazing, behavior, and range management of beef/sheep. His research is focused on virtual fence in cattle, grazing utilization of riparian areas by livestock and wildlife, and investigating the genetics of diet selection of sheep grazing the sagebrush steppe.

John Abizaid, Vence

John works with private producers, NGOs, and State + Federal agencies to promote and implement Virtual Fencing projects across the American West. He came to Vence through his fascination with the relationship between ruminants and grasslands and how important grazing species are to ecosystem health when managed properly. His hopes Vence can provide a tool to land managers to improve rangeland ecology while minimizing negative impacts on wildlife. His work includes business development, RF modeling, and field deployment. He is based in Denver, Colorado.

CK Wisniewski, Vence

CK Wisniewski is the Associate Director of Rancher Success at Vence, based in Buhl, Idaho. Her background is in ag tech with a bachelor’s in animal science. CK is dedicated to supporting ranchers and building out a team to empower the adoption of Vence's innovative solutions.
